The scratch awls has a high impact plastic handle length of 4 in with a hardened and tempered steel blade. It can be used to start holes in soft wood and scribe or mark wood or other soft metals. Scratch Awls are used in automotive and electrical work in tight spaces such as scribing lines, o- ring and cotter pin removal and breaking radiator connections. The shank is larger for heavy- duty applications.
